The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences hosted its annual Oscar nominees luncheon Monday to celebrate this year’s crop of hopefuls.
The event, at the Beverly Hilton, concluded with the annual class photo.
This year’s entry list includes past winners such as Steven Spielberg and Roger Deakins, and previous nominees including Tom Cruise, Michelle Williams, Sarah Polley, Rian Johnson, Mary Zophres and Diane Warren. Newcomers included Brandon Fraser, Hong Chau, Austin Butler and Paul Mescal.

The event kicks off a series of Academy programs leading up to the Oscars, which will be held at the Dolby Theater on Sunday, March 12 and broadcast live on TBEN. AMPAS-hosted screenings, panels, and more are scheduled to take place at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures.
