Andy Reid and his staff must get a little crazy on their late nights at the Kansas City Chiefs’ facility.
No team comes up with weirder formations and moves, especially near the goal line, than the Chiefs. They outdid themselves against the Las Vegas Raiders on Saturday, though a touchdown was lost on a holding penalty.
Imagine the reaction in practice when the Chiefs coaches instructed the players to do a spinning merry-go-round, break out and scramble to their positions. Then they would have an eye on the running back, who would throw back at Patrick Mahomes, only for him to throw it left.
This is about the weirdest thing you’ll see in the NFL this season.
And unfortunately it didn’t count. The touchdown to Kadarius Toney was taken off the board for a holding penalty. Toney scored right after to give the Chiefs a 21-3 lead, and the highlight lives on, but it’s still a shame the game didn’t officially count.
If that’s what Reid and his staff had in mind for the Raiders in Week 18, imagine what they’re up to for the playoffs.
