Days of Our Lives star Cody Longo has passed away at the age of 34.
The actor’s manager, Alex Gittelson, confirmed the tragic news on Twitter on Friday, writing, “Incomprehensibly devastated by the tragic loss of my dear friend and client, Cody Longo.”
“My heart breaks for his beautiful family,” added Gittelson. “You will be missed, brother.”
According to TMZ, Longo’s lifeless body was found in bed at a home in Austin, Texas, on Wednesday.
The outlet claims his wife, professional dancer/choreographer Stephanie Longo, was working that day at a local dance studio when she couldn’t get hold of her husband.
She reportedly called the police after feeling uneasy about not hearing from Longo and asked the officers to go and check on him.
According to TMZ, officers responded to the house and knocked, but no one answered, so they kicked in the door.
Then they reportedly found him dead in a bedroom.
A family member told the outlet that Cody — who also appeared in “Bring It On: Fight to The Finish,” “Nashville” and “Hollywood Heights” — struggled with alcohol abuse for years.
He reportedly entered rehab in the summer of 2022, and Stephanie told TMZ that he had been working hard on himself to fight for their three children: a daughter, 7, and two sons, 5 and 1.
Cody’s loved ones reportedly believe a possible relapse may have contributed to his demise; however, an official cause of death has not been released.
“He was a great father and the best husband. Our whole world is shattered,” Stephanie shared.
She has not yet responded to Page Six’s request for comment.
