Rahul Dravid said there was little time for player development and it was exciting to start the series a week early.
“We’ve had some very long sessions. I think it’s very exciting as coaching staff because you don’t actually get times like this because of the amount of cricket we play. You don’t actually get time to do a camp or you can get a longer period of time where you work with players and build up to the Test series.” Rahul Dravid said in a video posted to Twitter by the BCCI.
India have won the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in the last three Test matches – at home in 2016–17, in Australia in 2018–19 and in 2020–21 – all by a score of 2–1 over the course of a four-match series.
The opening test will be played on February 9 at Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium in Nagpur.
