Indian Cricket Team is all set to take on New Zealand for the 2nd ODI on January 21 (Saturday). The Black Caps would like to split the Series after a heartbreaking defeat in the 1st ODI. The Men in Blue are still missing the services of right-armed speedster Jasprit Bumrah due to a back injury.

India needs to bring their ‘A’ game and more importantly, players like Suryakumar Yadav and Hardik Pandya need to play according to their credentials. Suryakumar is said to be well aware of the fact that he is not a regular member of the side and would need big innings to cement the spot for the 2023 World Cup.

Paras Mhambrey was seen during the pre-match press conference being asked about Jasprit Bumrah. “Bumrah is a unique bowler. Let’s accept that the kind of skills he brings are very hard to replicate. It is also an opportunity for other bowlers because you are tested in different situations.” said Paras Mhambrey.

Steep road ahead for New Zealand

India should consider using Shardul Thakur as a floater as he has a knack for playing a lighthearted cameo. It would be interesting to see if management drops Washington Sundar and brings star leg spinner Yuzvendra Chahal back into the lineup.
