“The old committee is likely to select Sri Lanka’s white ball team,” a BCCI source who was aware of the development told PTI on condition of anonymity.
Hardik Pandya will lead the squad. As for KL Rahul, T20I days are seemingly numbered – BCCI source
A BCCI source said that captain Rohit’s thumb injury, which he suffered in the second ODI against Bangladesh, may rule him out of the Sri Lanka T20Is and Hardik can be named as the captain of the side. The source also said that out-of-form opening batsman KL Rahul’s T20I days are numbered.
“As of now, it doesn’t look like Rohit Sharma’s finger will heal enough for the T20Is and in that case Hardik will lead the party. As for KL Rahul, his T20I days seem numbered,” said the source.
Also, Virat Kohli could be rested for the T20I series against Sri Lanka and there is a good chance that the team will only consist of specialist players.

On Friday 18th November, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) decided to dismiss the entire senior men selection committee which was headed by Chetan Sharma and the process to set up a new selection committee has taken a little longer than expected.
‘Chetan and his committee are still watching domestic cricket. They watched the entire Vijay Hazare Trophy and also the first two rounds of the Ranji Trophy. Debasish Mohanty attended Eden Gardens to watch Bengal vs Himachal Pradesh. In fact, they were given a two-month extension until December 25,” the official said.
