In the movie ‘Nayak’, protagonist Anil Kapoor is challenged by the prime minister to lead the state for one day and then carries out sweeping reforms within 24 hours.
“If they made me the CEO of BPL, it would take me one or two months to straighten things out. Have you seen the movie Nayak? If you want to do something, you can do it in one day,” Shakib said.

On Friday, January 6, members of the Bangladesh Premier League’s governing council and BCB CEO Nizamuddin Chowdhury addressed the media. During the press conference, Sheikh Sohel, chairman of the BPL board of directors, said they would welcome Shakib Al Hasan to the board as CEO.
“I welcome Shakib and thank him. If he wants to come as CEO of BPL, he has expressed that interest. We welcome him from the board of directors. If he wants, he can come and take the responsibility as CEO,” he said, as quoted by TBEN.
“Film is not reality. He (Shakib) is still playing and cannot come right away when he leaves the game. But he can come next year,” Sohel added.
If Shakib Al Hasan didn’t talk, would there be publicity? – BPL board member secretary Ismail Haider Mallick
Recently, Shakib Al Hasan said that the Dhaka Premier League was managed better than the Bangladesh Premier League. In response, BPL Board Secretary Ismail Haider Mallick said:
“This one [what Shakib said] is not unpleasant. Earlier I spoke with Shakib. I spoke to Mashrafe [Bin Mortaza] also. We are members of the same family and there may be differences of opinion.
“If someone says so, you can. From what I see, Shakib often doesn’t play premier league matches (Dhaka Premier League). But so far he has not missed a BPL game. I don’t think it’s an argument.
“If Shakib didn’t talk, would there be publicity?” he joked later.
