EUREKA — Police are investigating Sunday after a woman was found dead in a load of recycling picked up by a truck in Humboldt County.
The body was discovered Thursday morning at the Samoa Resource Recovery Center near Eureka, Eureka police said.

Trucks bring loads of recycling to downtown from the North Coast region.
“Based on the collection route, it is believed the woman was collected within the Eureka city limits,” police said in a statement.
It’s not clear how the unknown woman ended up in the truck, whether she was dead when picked up or if she was the victim of foul play or an accident.
An autopsy is scheduled, SF Gate reported Sunday.
